New Meditation classes: Awaken your inner Zen!

We are excited to introduce Meditation classes across Richmond Recreation Centre and Fitzroy Swimming Pool!

This 45-minute instructor led class, will have you feeling relaxed and balanced.

Create space for mindfulness through meditation, by allowing yourself to just be. With regular practice over time, gain the benefits of a calm and peaceful mind. Meditation classes include breathing techniques, focus, mindfulness and gentle movement.

Please bring your yoga mat and some warmer clothes.

What is meditation?

Meditation is a practice where you train your mind to focus and become more aware of the present moment. It's like exercise for your brain. Just like you exercise your body to stay fit and healthy, meditation helps you exercise your mind to become calm and peaceful.

During meditation, you sit or lie down in a quiet place and close your eyes. The idea is to let go of distracting thoughts and bring your attention to the present moment.

By practicing meditation regularly, you can improve your ability to concentrate, reduce stress and increase your overall well-being. It's a way to give your mind a break from all the busyness and noise of everyday life and find a sense of inner peace.

Meditation requires no prior experience, all skill levels are welcome.
