On Monday 18 December we will start installing new electronic RFID lockers at Fitzroy Swimming Pool. The locker installation will occur from Monday 18 December until Wednesday 20 December.

We expect the lockers will be ready for use by Thursday 21 December.

Customer service staff will be on hand to guide members and casual users through the use of the new lockers in the first few weeks. Don't be shy to ask for an intro.

Locker access during the install

During the locker change over, we will have limited key lockers available however please be prepared that you may not have access to a locker during your visit. We recommend that you don't bring bags with you from Monday to Wednesday whenever possible, particularly if you're using the gym or attending a class. Please do not leave valuables in unattended bags.

Please remember no bags:

• on the gym floor
• in the group exercise room.

How do the new lockers work?

The lockers to be installed are the same type as the ones recently installed at Richmond Recreation Centre. The new lockers are RFID enabled with a simple and user friendly design. 

Members and visit pass holders will press their RFID enabled membership card or RFID band at the individual locker reader and the locker can be securely opened and closed.

Casual users will need to purchase a locker from reception as per usual, and will receive a disposable RFID wristband to scan at the individual locker reader for access.

With a quick glance, users can see via the lock’s button position if a locker is free or in use.

Where will the lockers be installed?

Lockers will be installed in the reception area, in the enclosure just outside the male change room, near the proposed shower pod, the family change courtyard and at the end of the toddler pool for use by all. A further bank of lockers will be installed in the female change room alcove for female patrons.  

Updating your RFID band or card for locker access

Once the new lockers are activated and ready for use; all members, visit pass holders, and learn to swim students with access to a locker will need to visit reception for a once off activation of their RFID band or receive a new RFID band or membership card for use on the lockers.
