Occasional child care

We have an occasional care child minding service at Richmond Recreation Centre and Fitzroy Swimming Pool. Our staff offer a safe and fun space for children aged 6 weeks and over.

Sessions are Monday to Friday:

  • 9am to 10.30am
  • 10.30am to 12 noon

Costs are $11.55 (full fee), $7.35 (Yarra Leisure Member) or $4.40 (Concession).           

How do I enrol my child for the occasional care service?

You must enrol your child to be eligible for access to our occasional care service. You can enrol online using My Family Lounge.

How do I make an occasional care booking?

To make a booking for occasional care at Richmond Recreation Centre and Fitzroy Swimming Pool, please contact the centres directly.

Occasional care services are available to Yarra Leisure members and non-members. Parents and guardians do not have to remain in the venue whilst the child is in care.

Casual and occasional care trial 2019

From Monday 7 January to June 2019, Yarra City Council will be trialing an expanded casual and occasional care service.

Casual Care

Five hour casual care sessions are available at:

  • Gold Street Children’s Centre in Collingwood
  • Keele Street Children’s Centre in Collingwood
  • Yarraberg Children’s Centre in Richmond
  • North Carlton Children’s Centre in Carlton
  • Connie Benn Early Learning Centre.

All Casual Care sessions run Monday to Friday 8.30am to 1.30pm.

Each session costs $56.70 but if you are eligible for the Commonwealth Government childcare subsidy, you will not have to pay the full amount per session.

Occasional Care

Four hour occasional care sessions are available at Connie Benn Early Learning Centre from:

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm
  • Monday and Wednesday 1pm to 5pm

Sessions at Connie Benn Early learning Centre cost $28.65 full fee or $10.20 if you are eligible for concession pricing.
