Fitzroy Swimming Pool closure for charity event

MS Mega Swim event at Fitzroy Swimming Pool

From 5.45pm on Friday 28 February to 8pm on Saturday 29 February, a 24 hour charity swim to raise money for people living with multiple sclerosis will take over Fitzroy’s 50 metre pool.

During that time, the 50m pool and group exercise room will be closed to the public. The 50m pool will reopen to the public at 8am on Sunday 1 March. The spa, sauna, steam room and toddler pool will remain open as normal. 

Will group exercise classes be cancelled? 

Please be advised that the following group exercise classes have been cancelled:

Friday 28 February group exercise cancellations

  • Body Pump at 5.30pm

Saturday 29 February group exercise cancellations

  • Yoga 2 at 8.10am
  • Body Balance at 9.45am
  • Yoga 1 and 2 at 11am
  • Yoga 1 at 4.30pm

Is Yarra Triathlon cancelled?

The Yarra Triathlon Swim Squad session on Saturday 29 February at 8.30am has been cancelled.

Is Open Age Squad cancelled?

The Open Age Squad sessions scheduled for 5pm to 6.30pm at Fitzroy Swimming Pool on Friday 28 February have been cancelled.

Are swimming lessons cancelled?

Swimming lessons will be cancelled on Saturday 29 February.

What is the charity event?

The MS 24 Hour Mega Swim is a fun team relay event where teams have a swimmer in the water for the entire 24 hours and compete for laps swum and money raised, in support for people living with multiple sclerosis. It is one of Australia’s most popular and fastest-growing fundraising events, bringing communities together.
