Changes to fees and charges

As part of the 2019/20 annual budget process, Yarra City Council recently reviewed fees and charges across its services. To ensure that we maintain high standards and keep improving our facilities, there is a proposed increase in Yarra Leisure fees.

Council has adopted the budget with the below changes at an Ordinary Council Meeting at 7pm on Tuesday 25 June at Richmond Town Hall.

What are the key dates for the roll out of the new fees and charges?

Casual programs and services (including multi visit pass options Monday 1 July 2019
Membership fees (including Open Age Squad) Thursday 11 July 2019
Learn to Swim lesson fees (take effect from Term 4 2019)

Monday 26 August for up front term fees

Thursday 3 October 2019 for direct debit fees

What are the casual fees?

What will our 2019/20 fees be used for?

  • Yarra City Council has committed to over $1,250,000 of improvements to Yarra Leisure centres in the draft budget for 2019/20. The facility improvements include:
  • Annual upgrade to the pool mechanical plant systems at Collingwood Leisure Centre, Fitzroy Swimming Pool and Richmond Recreation Centre for continued maintenance of high water quality.
  • Building upgrades to Collingwood Leisure Centre including new carpet for the group exercise room and window tinting for the main pool hall.
  • Replacement of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system in the gym at Fitzroy Swimming Pool.
  • Continued upgrade to the course paths, fence refurbishment and renewal of 11 bunkers at Burnley Golf Course.
  • Building works, maintenance and improvements to Collingwood Leisure Centre, Fitzroy Swimming Pool and Richmond Recreation Centre.
  • Renovation works to the social club room at Burnley Golf Course.
  • Improvement works to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at Richmond Recreation Centre.
