Flu vaccine shortages - 2018

Friday 25 May 2018

A young girl is receiving a vaccine from a nurse.
As of Friday 25 May, Yarra has a small number of flu vaccines left. The Department of Health and Human Services have advised us that their stock of flu vaccines has run out and we are unable to order or receive any more flu vaccines at this time.

The cost of the flu vaccine is $15 which are administered at immunisation sessions. No bookings are required.

We will continue to run immunisation sessions as usual but urge you to contact us on 9205 5555 before attending a session to check that we have a flu vaccine available for you. If stocks have run out, we will not be able to administer flu vaccines.

View the timetable for immunisation sessions.

If available the vaccine is free for:
• Children aged 6 months to <5 years
• People aged 5 years and over who have a medical risk factor that increases their risk of complications from influenza
• Aboriginal people aged 15 years and over
• Pregnant women anytime during pregnancy
• Adults aged 65 years and older

For more information call Yarra City Council on 9205 5555 or email info@yarracity.vic.gov.au or visit our Immunisation page for more information on vaccines.
